It is quarter to 12 and the street is completely empty. I can not see a single person , no-one. Only thing I can hear are my heart beats. This street was one of the most busiest streets of the city. I can see complete empty electronic showrooms with their TVs showing something , something horrible, something which can not be expressed with words. It is showing someone extremely ugly, extremely dangerous shooting humans, cutting them into pieces and then feeding on them. How can someone kill and then eat men like this? It is unimaginable. He is not a human being, he is a monster, a dreadful monster.
I can't tolerate this any more. I have to move on. I know why the street is empty. I know why there is no sound, not even a baby crying , not even a dog barking ..............because everyone is dead. That monster has killed everyone in the city. There is no-one left, no-one. Specialized armed forces from different cities have come to kill the monster but no-one can kill him.
I have to stop thinking all this. Right now I have to run. I have to run to my room otherwise I will die. I may be last one to die in this city. If I can reach my place in time I would be safe. I have to run for my life. My words won't do justice to my feelings at that moment. The fear of death has completely engulfed me.
10 minutes later :-
I am about to enter my room. But.............. I can see someone, someone standing in my doorstop, someone huge, ugly, dangerous. He slowly takes out his gun. It was not an ordinary gun. And then without warning, without saying anything, he fires. That's the end of my life ...... I am dead. The man who killed me shouts ...."I have killed the monster. The monster is dead".
I slowly turned towards my friend and said "What a game. This is one of the best computer games I have ever played. 'The Monster' rocks". He replies "No game can beat Counter-Strike".

nice twist!!
ReplyDeleteGhyam likhechis bhai.
ReplyDeleteProthom-e bore hochhilam, but the ending was ultimate
hey bro... that was nice to read... actually pretty surprising that you have a writer in you.
ReplyDeleteI have an honest suggestion though. the line - "I know why there is no sound, not even a baby crying , not even a dog barking ............." expresses as if the narrator is expecting a baby to cry... i find it funny and cleashay.
other then that... you are awesome... i like the ending very much.
keep it up...
waiting for more it read from you.
u should have used expressions like "whistle of wind, rush of leaves and the chime of bells... etc etc"
ReplyDelete@rahul
ReplyDeleteyah... that would have been better
The ending does the trick...nice twist...you could better describe the eerie surroundings by using some dark metaphors maybe...otherwise all seemed pretty decent...hope to see many more such pieces in the times to come...btw, the next time u go bird-watching, do take me along...awesome snaps all of them!
